I am pleased to announce that I have been accepted, along with 12 other artists, into the first round of Ann Kullberg’s SOAR teacher training course. When I complete the 10 week course, I will be a certified SOAR instructor, and Ann Kullberg will be flying me across the U.S. and Canada to instruct, inspire, and empower colored pencil enthusiasts through colored pencil workshops using my own techniques and projects. Here is where you will find out the “when and where” for SOAR workshops: https://www.soarwithann.com/pages/workshops
I will be putting a pause button on my private colored pencil classes for an indeterminate amount of time to fully focus on SOAR. I will post here about any future classes, along with workshops I’ll be doing through the SOAR network of teachers…hopefully in a city near you!
Beginner Colored Pencil Class
The Beginner Colored Pencil Class is for preteens, teens, and adults who love art and want to improve their knowledge and skill. While this class is considered a beginner colored pencil course, it is still quite technical in nature and moves at a quick pace. The class will be covering topics like color theory and color harmony, underpaintings, blending and burnishing with colored pencils, textures, basic sketching and tracing, and more! You will have ample opportunity to ask questions and get immediate feedback and tips as you explore this amazing medium. Most importantly, you will have fun doing it! The class guide includes 5 different projects, some of which will be started and worked on in class. The others will be for you to complete at home at your own pace whenever you have time.
Course Fee: $100
Materials Fee: $75, which includes the following:
- Spiral bound class guide, worksheets, and hand-outs
